Susan Wolf

Susan M. Wolf, JD, is a McKnight Presidential Professor of Law, Medicine & Public Policy; Faegre Baker Daniels Professor of Law; and professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota. Professor Wolf is chair of the University’s Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), member of the American Law Institute (ALI), and fellow of The Hastings Center. She has served on committees for the National Academies, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and multiple medical and legal organizations.

She currently sits on the National Academies’ Committee on Science, Engineering, Medicine, and Public Policy (COSEMPUP). Professor Wolf’s research has been supported by NIH, National Science Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Greenwall Foundation, and others. Her research focuses on legal and ethical issues in health care, biomedical research, and emerging technologies, including genomics, neuroscience, and nanotechnology. Her publications have appeared in ScienceNature GeneticsGenetics in MedicineNew England Journal of Medicine, and JAMA, among others. Professor Wolf received her BA with highest honors from Princeton University and JD from Yale Law School.
