Professor Josh Clinton
Professor Josh Clinton is the Abby and Jon Winkelried Chair and Professor at Vanderbilt University. He is also the Co-Director at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions and the Vanderbilt Poll, Editor in Chief for the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, and Executive Board Member for the Data Science Institute at Vanderbilt University. Clinton was also the Chair of the American Association of Public Opinion’s Task Force on 2020 Pre-Election Polling, and he is currently a Senior Election Analyst for NBC News.
Clinton’s work is focused on elections, public opinion, statistical methodology, and lawmaking, and his peer-reviewed work has recently appeared in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science Advances, the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Science Research & Methods, Political Analysis, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and the Annual Review of Political Science.
Clinton’s graduate degrees are from Stanford University, where he earned a PhD in Political Science, a MS in Statistics, and a MA in Economics. He double-majored in Political Science and Economics at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
