William Haines Art Experience: Exhibition Evening

Past Event

Take part in a horticultural workshop at Sunnylands Center & Gardens that uses the famed collection of William Haines-designed Sunnylands furnishings as inspiration.

To highlight this season’s exhibition, Variations to a Theme: William Haines at Sunnylands, registered participants will receive a private tour of the exhibition by Sunnylands’ Director of Heritage Anne Rowe. This behind-the-scenes experience will provide a detailed look into the history and design of the Haines collection.

After their tour, the horticultural team at the Palm Springs Flower School will help participants create a unique planter box inspired by the furniture collection using living flower specimens featured in Haines’ embroidery and upholstery. The completed project will be a functional planter box that can be reused with new florals at home.

Open to any skill level. Gardening gloves, safety glasses, and hand pruners are recommended. After the workshop concludes, participants will take their creations home with them.

Fee: $89 per guest. All plants, supplies, and materials are provided. Space is limited. Registration required. No horticulture or art experience necessary. Ages 14 and above. Unregistered guests are not permitted. Registration opens December 22 at 9 am Pacific time. To register, click or tap here or the yellow button. Please note, this workshop is SOLD OUT.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown to the studio.
