Films in the Gardens: “The Goonies” (1985)

Our free Films in the Gardens series returns in May featuring a trio of films that transport you to wondrous worlds.

Films in the Gardens runs for three consecutive Friday evenings in May. This series concludes with a screening of The Goonies (1985) on May 16 at 7:30 pm.

  • May 2 at 7:30 pm – Spy Kids (2001) – Two kids become spies in attempt to save their ex-spies parents from an evil mastermind. Armed with a bag of high-tech gadgets, Carmen and Juni will bravely crisscross the globe on a mission to save their parents and maybe even the world (IMDb). Rated: PG. Run time: 1 hour 28 minutes.
  • May 9 at 7:30 pm – Hook (1991) – When Captain James Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to challenge his old enemy (IMDb). Rated: PG. Run time: 2 hours 22 minutes.
  • May 16 at 7:30 pm – The Goonies (1985) – A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate’s long-lost treasure (IMDb). Rated: PG. Run time: 1 hour 54 minutes.

Gates open at 6 pm. Film begins at 7:30 pm. Admission is free. Reservations are not required. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Please note, parking at the gate or along Bob Hope Drive will not be permitted.

No seating is provided. Filmgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and small picnics. Large coolers, alcohol, smoking, and pets are not permitted.

This season, the café will be open for Films in the Gardens. An assortment of prepackaged popcorn, snacks, candy, and beverages will be available for purchase. Open from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

Films in the Gardens is presented in partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Parking and admission are free.
