Family Day: Art Through the Ages
Join students from Cathedral City High School’s Creativity, Activity, & Service (CAS) program at Sunnylands for a free Family Day event focused on art throughout the ages.
Saturday, March 22nd, 8:30 am- 2 pm.
Cathedral City High School seniors in the CAS program have worked together to produce interactive activities that will take guests through history, exploring art and culture from various time periods. - Ancient Greece: Decorate miniature ceramic pots inspired by ancient Greek pottery.
- Pre-Columbian Americas: Create Aztec-inspired sun dials.
- The Renaissance: Create miniature simulated stained glass.
- The Enlightenment: Learn how to make a thermometer from household items.
- Victorian Era: Make a pressed flower bookmark.
- Meiji Era: Learn to make origami lotus flowers and other figures.
- America in the 50s: Decorate vinyl records using 1950s theme prints.
- Modern Era: Learn how to incorporate sustainable practices into art and create a pinwheel out of sustainable materials.
