Art Workshop—Nature in Pastel: Intro to Plein-air Pastels

Learn to paint dry pastel nature scenes in the style of the French Impressionists with Gianne de Genevraye in the Sunnylands gardens.

This open-air art workshop will teach the techniques necessary to capture environmental perspectives through the creative use of negative space, layering, various stroke techniques, and more. The class will then take part in a guided session where participants will create a pastel drawing of the Sunnylands gardens. 

Fee: $39.99 per guest. All supplies and materials are provided. Space is limited. Registration required. No art experience necessary. Ages 14 and above. Unregistered guests are not permitted.

This workshop is available for the following dates:

  • Saturday, February 3, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (SOLD OUT)
  • Sunday, February 4, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm

Please note, there is a 30-minute break from 12:30 to 1 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring their own packed lunch or visit the Sunnylands café where several light lunch options are available for purchase (lunch is not included in the workshop fee). Sun protection and a reusable water bottle are recommended.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time.
