From December 12-14, Sunnylands partnered with RAND, a non-partisan research organization with extensive expertise on national security challenges, to host a retreat that explored the potentially disruptive geopolitical implications of artificial intelligence.

This dialogue convened a bipartisan group of senior national security officials, top technology executives from large and small AI organizations, and leaders from academia and think tanks to examine AI’s potential impact on national and global security.

After two days of deep discussions that included a simulation and crisis exercise, Sunnylands and RAND made meaningful progress setting a forward-looking research agenda, building a network of industry and government leaders with greater expertise and appreciation of looming challenges, and facilitating information exchange across incoming and outgoing administrations.
