Art Workshop: Tabletop Nicho

Join Raices Cultura staff artists for a fun, hands-on studio session where you create your own miniature nicho—a Latinx folk art shadow box honoring a loved one, figure, or idea. Using paint, collage, and mixed media, this workshop is open to all skill levels and offers a creative, relaxed environment.

Fee: $32.70 per participant. All art supplies will be provided. Please bring a painting shirt or apron and any personal items you would like to include, i.e. photographs, ephemera, if you are dedicating your nicho to a departed loved one. Registration required. Participants must be 12 years old or older. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.

About the artists: Raices Cultura, founded in 2004 in Coachella, empowers youth and adults through art, cultural traditions, and community events. It launched Coachella’s first Día de los Muertos community celebration in 2005 and continues to promote creative expression and connection across the Coachella Valley.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time.
