Wellness Workshop: Therapeutic Horticulture
Delight in the benefits of therapeutic horticulture and immerse your senses while engaging in guided, hands-on activities. These activities include exploring nature mandalas, creating your own intentional succulent garden container, and decorating and filling aromatherapy sachet bags. Join us in a relaxing and calm space to participate in garden-based activities in a positive, supportive atmosphere.
Saturday, March 1, 1-3 pm.
Fee: $32.19 per participant. All materials are provided. Ages 8 (with an adult) and above. Space is limited. Registration is required.

About the instructor: Karen Haney is a registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR), UCCE Master Gardener, certified in permaculture design. She oversees the Horticultural Therapy program at a non-public school in Los Angeles and developed/currently teaches the AHTA accredited Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program with UCLA extension. Karen loves to share her passion about the therapeutic benefits of engaging with plants through positive and meaningful activities.
This program takes place sitting in chairs, outdoors. Sun protection, water, and comfortable clothing (that you don’t mind getting dirty, you will be working with potting soil) are recommended.
Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where to meet class.
Program changes may require the cancellation or rescheduling of some events. If a ticketed activity is canceled, refunds will be issued promptly. Outdoor programs may be canceled or modified due to weather conditions, including rain, lightning, or strong winds.
