Mike Reeske

Mike Reeske is director of facilities planning and management at Sunnylands. Mike joined the Sunnylands team in October 2010 after more than twenty years as a general building contractor. He studied construction management at Cal Poly Pomona and has worked primarily in the residential construction market.

Mike first came to Sunnylands in the late 1990s, working with his father-in-law under contract with the Annenbergs. He worked on construction of the mausoleum and the Inwood Room, among many other projects.

In February 2010, Mike worked with MATT Construction as superintendent during the Sunnylands transition project. During that time, the historic house underwent a seismic retrofit and a remodel to prepare it for public tours and high-level retreats. Since then, Mike has helped to oversee construction of the Retreat Pavilion, Administration buildings, Tamarisk Cottage, and the new Retreat Accommodations.

The fifth of six children, Mike moved to the Coachella Valley with his parents and siblings in 1969. He is happily married to his wife, Julie, and is the proud father of two children, and grandfather of two grandchildren.
