Sunnylands Series: India Hicks on the Art of Entertaining

Past Event

The Sunnylands Speaker Series, in partnership with the Rancho Mirage Public Library, returns for a new season on Wednesday, February 8.

Sunnylands’ newest exhibition, A Place at the Table: Dining at Sunnylands, celebrates Walter and Leonore Annenberg’s remarkable history of diplomacy and social gatherings through an exploration of the fine china and tableware they used to entertain guests for decades, and which is still used for important meetings to this day.

In this presentation, India Hicks, a goddaughter of Britain's King Charles III, will discuss the fine art of elegant settings for diplomacy. Like Leonore Annenberg before her, Hicks entertains thought leaders at her homes in London and the Bahamas. A designer and an entrepreneur, she is a board member of Global Empowerment Mission, a disaster relief nonprofit, and the best-selling author of four design books. At the library, Hicks will be signing copies of her latest book, An Entertaining Story, published by Rizzoli in 2020. Copies of the Sunnylands exhibition catalog also will be available.

This discussion will be held in the Community Room at the Rancho Mirage Public Library on Wednesday, February 8 from 2 to 3 pm. This event does not take place at Sunnylands Center & Gardens.
