Join noted Los Angeles-based mosaic artist Mary Clark-Camargo for a special Day of the Dead art workshop. Participants will create a 6×8-inch mosaic skull, known as a calavera, using handcrafted glass and ceramic tiles.
Saturday, October 17, 12-3:30 pm.
Fee: $71.97 per participant. All art supplies and materials are provided. Space is limited. Registration required. No art experience necessary. Ages 18 and above. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.
About the instructor: Artist Mary Clark-Camargo began composing mosaic art for at least 20 years ago. By 2005, she had appeared on several shows on HGTV, DIY Network, and The Fine Living Channel demonstrating her mosaic techniques. Her work has been shown at many art galleries as well as the Autry and Southwest museums in Los Angeles. She became well known for her large-scale Day of the Dead calaveras and her public art projects in Pasadena and Eagle Rock. She currently has a studio in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, where she teaches mosaic classes while continuing her work in fine art, public art, and commissions.
Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where the class will be meeting.
