On World Food Day 2019, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that he will host a major global summit in 2021 that will focus on transforming the world’s food systems in order to fight hunger, malnutrition, environmental degradation, and other challenges.
If successful, the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit will be a landmark opportunity to catalyze action around the world to make food systems inclusive, climate-adapted, resilient, and supportive of sustainable peace, In doing so, the actions would help reverse current trends in hunger and malnutrition.
In support of UN efforts to ensure that the summit is as successful as possible, Sunnylands hosted series of discussions on February 12-14, 2020, focused on key issues surrounding the summit.
