Xiao Song is an Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at Contrarian Capital Management, L.L.C. In addition to managing the Emerging Markets strategy since inception in 2006, Xiao oversees emerging markets sourcing, investing and research efforts across the firm. He joined Contrarian in 2003 as a Senior Analyst where his responsibilities included sourcing, researching and proposing global distressed long and short investments across the capital structure. From 2001 to 2003, Xiao was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch & Co where he performed detailed fundamental analysis on current and prospective client companies across all industries. Xiao received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois in 2001.
