Dr. Veronique Kiermer, currently based at the The Public Library of Science’s (PLOS) San Fransisco office, is the executive editor of PLOS Journals, responsible for editorial content direction and vision for PLOS Journals since 2015. Dr. Kiermer received her PhD in molecular biology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium and completed her postdoctoral work at the University of California, San Francisco. In previous years, Dr. Kiermer was director of author and reviewer services for Nature Publishing Group (NPG), overseeing various aspects of Nature Journals and their integrity within the research. As founding chief editor of Nature Methods, she took on the publishing responsibilities for certain online products and the title. Dr. Kiermer became executive editor, NPG, in which she oversaw overseeing editorial policies quality assurance for Nature and the Nature journals in 2010.
