Stéphane Mousset

As director and chief of staff, Stéphane Mousset provides fund-wide strategic, managerial, and operational support to the president, and he maintains relations with key stakeholders in Rome and in member states. He leads special initiatives and corporate reforms. He prepares and supports decision-making at the president level.
In addition, he provides guidance to departments and divisions drafting materials for the president and, in liaison with relevant departments, he helps assess and mitigate risks facing the organization.
Mr. Mousset is entitled to represent the fund and the president in official United Nations committees, in international financial institutions and external events, fora, and conferences.
Before joining the fund in 2017, Mr. Mousset worked for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance as head of the IMF/OECD and G7/G20 Division (2015-2017).
In previous positions, he has been head of Americas’ Division at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (2013-2015) and Consul of France for economic affairs in Sao Paulo (Brazil, 2010-2013). At the French Treasury, he has also been in charge of World Bank, African Development Bank, and G20 Development issues, as well as banking sector regulation and monetary affairs.
Mr. Mousset graduated from the École Nationale d’Administration in Strasbourg and holds two master’s degrees in public finance and public management from Université Paris -Sorbonne.
