Mike Garcia

Raised in the Coachella Valley, Miguel “Mike” Garcia is the superintendent of landscape, grounds, and golf at Sunnylands.

Mike oversees a crew of nearly 30 grounds and other staff workers who are responsible for maintaining the 15 acres of drought-tolerant landscaping at Sunnylands Center & Gardens and the 200-acre Annenberg estate, home to one of the world’s best nine-hole golf courses.

With associates degrees in both horticulture and turf management from College of the Desert, Mike came to Sunnylands in September 2022, after working for more than a dozen years at various Coachella Valley golf clubs, including the Indian Wells Country Club, Eagle Falls Golf Course, and Ironwood Country Club.

A graduate of Desert Mirage High School in Thermal, Mike now lives in Coachella with his wife and their three sons. He’s an avid golfer and enjoys taking camping, fishing, and beach trips to a variety of Southern California locales.
