Minister Miguel Medina

Minister of Investment, Government of Honduras

Miguel Medina is the minister of investment of the Republic of Honduras, in charge of building bridges with national and international investors and thus promoting the growth and development of the country.

He comes to this position from a solid track record as a business leader. Thanks to his work in attracting investments and negotiating projects in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Africa, he has had the challenge of developing effective strategies for taking advantage of opportunities, which he has then successfully capitalized in Honduras and abroad.

Miguel led the largest fuel retail operation company in Honduras and was a trader for the largest transnational coffee company in the world, collaborating from its offices in New York. Additionally, he has experience in other investment projects in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, and trade, among others. From these sectors, he has learned the value of human connections to achieve transversal benefits for a company, region and even a nation.

His specialty is focused on negotiations in national and international markets, with experience in planning and managing corporate projects. Due to this, he has had the opportunity to participate in the board of directors of different business associations and foundations, from where he has contributed with his vision aimed at strengthening multi-sectoral work and building ties that serve the sustainable development of all. Similarly, Miguel was a member of the Young President’s Organizations (YPO), a U.S. entity that brings together outstanding young CEOs who lead large business operations worldwide.

Miguel has a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. He also completed his bachelor’s degree in business leadership at the University of Dallas, where he was part of the honor roll for academic excellence. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian.

Miguel lives in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with his wife and son.
