Jonathan Guo

Jonathan is the Founder and Managing Partner of Yiheng Capital, a China-focused independent alternative investment firm with offices in San Francisco and Beijing. Prior to founding Yiheng in 2008, Jonathan worked as an Analyst or Assistant Portfolio Manager at MSD Capital (the family office of Michael Dell), First Q Capital and Brahman Capital. Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked at Oracle Corporation where he rose to Senior Development Manager supervising teams of software developers.
Jonathan was born and raised in Fuzhou, China. In 1993, Jonathan was one of four high school students chosen to represent China in the Fifth International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI’93) in Mendoza, Argentina where he won China’s only gold medal in that year’s competition.
Jonathan studied at Tsinghua University before transferring to California Institute of Technology (Caltech) where he received a BS and a Carnation Merit Award for academic excellence. Jonathan also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
