Edwyn Shiell is the senior policy and strategy adviser of the SUN Movement Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland. He is also the head of advocacy and communications for the secretariat, overseeing print and online external communications and supporting SUN Country and SUN Network advocacy efforts.

Previously, Edwyn worked as an advocacy adviser for the UN REACH (Renewed Efforts Against Child Hunger) Initiative in Bangladesh, where he helped facilitate the development of a multi-sector advocacy and communication strategy, a common narrative for nutrition with UN and donors, media capacity building programs, and parliamentarian engagement.

Edwyn has also held senior positions as media and public affairs manager of Amnesty International, and in campaigning with Oxfam, Greenpeace, Make Poverty History, the National Council of Churches in Australia, and the Jubilee ‘Drop the Debt’ Movement. He holds a Masters in International Relations, a Masters of International Communication, a Bachelor of Journalism and has previously worked as a journalist, media trainer and media spokesperson.
