Dr. Jill A. Dever

Jill A. Dever, PhD, an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association, has engaged in innovative survey research for more than 25 years. She is recognized internationally for her contributions to sampling design, weighting and population inference, as well as for educating others in these areas. She has worked on a variety of studies including those assessing the correlates of good health, health care, and vaccination usage; COVID-19 infections; substance use disorders; retention in the U.S. military; smoking cessation programs; and the influence of education and family on career paths.

Dr. Dever is a regular contributor to reports from the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. She is the co-author of the internationally renowned books: Practical Tools for Designing and Weighting Sample Surveys, recipient of the 2020 American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) Book Award, and Survey Weights: A Step-by-Step Guide to Calculation.
