Ann Tutwiler

Senior Fellow, Meridian Institute

Ann is currently a Senior Fellow at Meridian Institute and a Senior Advisor for the Just Rural Transition. She chairs the Expert Review Committee of the World Benchmarking Alliance Food and Agriculture Benchmark, and serves as an advisor to Food Shot Global, the US Dairy Export Council, and Climate AI. She is an Ambassador for the Food and Land Use Coalition and for the Food Systems Dialogues.    

She served as the Director General of Bioversity International, an agricultural research organization focused on using and safeguarding agricultural biodiversity to improve nutrition, enhance resilience and to support the conservation of genetic resources. Ann was Deputy Director General for Knowledge at FAO, and Senior Advisor on Food Security for USDA during the Obama Administration. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College and a master’s in Public Policy from the Kennedy School at Harvard as well as certificates in agribusiness management from Purdue University and INSEAD.
