Andrew Frieman joined Contrarian in 2013 to establish and develop relationships with global institutional investors, family offices, and wealth management firms. Prior to Contrarian, Andrew spent eight years as a Managing Director responsible for Global Strategic Development for Lyster Watson & Company, a hedge fund advisory, and emerging manager marketing company. From 2002-2005, he was the Director of Marketing for CDK & Company, a hedge fund advisory firm based in New York where he worked closely with Contrarian in developing an offshore client base. From 1999-2002, he was an Analyst at The Blackstone Group, working in the advisory department focusing primarily on mergers & acquisitions. Additionally, he assisted in reviewing alternative investments for the account of the principal partners of the firm. From 1997-1998, he was an Associate in the Global Equities Group at Scudder Kemper Investments, working on research and analysis of real estate and chemical companies. Andrew received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Syracuse University.
