World Tai Chi Day

Saturday, April 29, is World Tai Chi Day and Sunnylands Center & Gardens is celebrating with Tai Chi Circle of the Desert with a special 30-minute demonstration. On this day at 10 am, people from around the globe from tai chi, qi gong, yoga, and other energy-based practices will simultaneously engage in their discipline and send positive energy out to the earth and all beings.

This event is free, open to the public, and will be followed by a regular 30-minute tai chi session, which is an opportunity to experience a traditional teaching of the Yang Family 108 Long Form. Participants learn the beginning positions of the form rooted in tai chi philosophy and principles. No previous experience with tai chi is required.

Participants should dress comfortably. Sun protection and water are suggested. Reservations not required.

Outdoor programs may be canceled at any time due to weather conditions, including rain, lightning, or strong winds.
