Join horticultural therapist Karen Haney for a therapeutic horticulture experience at Sunnylands. You will have a chance to delight your senses while engaging in guided, hands-on activities that include making your own flower press, making a pair of pressed flower jars, and decorating and filling aromatherapy sachets. Enjoy garden-based activities in a calm and relaxing space.

Friday, February 6, from 1-3 pm.

Fee: $43.10 per participant. All materials required for this class are provided. Available to guests age 15 and up, or as young as 8 with an accompanying adult. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.

Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outside. Sun protection, comfortable clothing, and water is recommended.   

About the instructor: Karen Haney is a registered horticultural therapist, UCCE master gardener, and certified in permaculture design. She oversees the Horticultural Therapy program at a non-public school in Los Angeles, and she developed and currently teaches the Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program with UCLA Extension. Karen loves to share her passion about the therapeutic benefits of engaging with plants through positive and meaningful activities.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where the class will be meeting.
