Wellness Workshop: An Afternoon of Therapeutic Horticulture
Join horticultural therapist Karen Haney for a therapeutic horticulture experience at Sunnylands, where you’ll celebrate trees and connect with nature and inner peace. The session includes a tree-inspired chakra balancing meditation and two hands-on activities: creating a gratitude yarn sculpture from tree branches and making a finger labyrinth using natural materials.

Fee: $43.10 per participant. All materials required for this class are provided. Available to guests 12 with an accompanying adult and up. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty (you will be working with natural materials and nontoxic white glue).
Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outside. Sun protection and water is recommended.
About the instructor: Karen Haney is a registered horticultural therapist, UCCE master gardener, and certified in permaculture design. She oversees the Horticultural Therapy program at a non-public school in Los Angeles, and she developed and currently teaches the Horticultural Therapy Certificate Program with UCLA Extension. Karen loves to share her passion about the therapeutic benefits of engaging with plants through positive and meaningful activities.
Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where the class will be meeting.
