Music in the Gardens: Nathan James & the Rhythm Scratchers

Sunnylands Center & Gardens presents its annual Music in the Gardens concert series beginning Sunday, March 1, and continuing every Sunday throughout the month. The public is invited to stroll in the gardens, bring a lawn chair, or have a picnic on the Great Lawn while enjoying a different musical act each weekend.

Every performance is free and takes place from 11 am to 1 pm. While guests are invited to bring food and picnics to Sunnylands, large coolers, ice chests, grills, and alcohol are not permitted.

Nathan James & the Rhythm Scratchers
Nathan’s three piece band, The Rhythm Scratchers, has forged a cumulative sound that combines elements of 1920s acoustic blues, amplified juke joint hill country, and 1950s uptown blues mixed with 1960s soulful R&B. Nathan's band pays homage to these traditions while injecting their own unique sounds, including Nathan's custom LED lit "Washtar Gitboard."
