Introducing a brand new act to Sunnylands. The Louie Bluies (named after exemplary blues artist Louie Bluie aka Howard Armstrong). The Bluies were formed three years ago and boasts an extremely eclectic catalog of songs, from blues to ragtime and country to jazz. The Bluies are comprised of Joey Latimer, an amazing musician, storyteller and artist. Joey has a vast number of recordings out and his career extends over four decades. Marshall Hawkins is possibly best known for being one of several bassists who played for Miles Davis. He now heads up the Jazz Department at Idyllwild Arts Academy and is also the music director of the annual three-day Jazz in the Pines festival held on campus at Idyllwild Arts in Idyllwild. Lastly is Don Reed, a multi-instrumentalist who lives, works and performs in Idyllwild, CA. This is a great combo of stellar musicians and heartfelt vocals.
