Take a 60-minute walk on the Sunnylands estate with Michaeleen Gallagher, director of Sunnylands Center & Gardens, and Thom Curry, founder of Temecula Olive Oil. This discussion will include stories about notable trees and information on the estate’s landscape history, specifically how olive trees were converted from landscape décor to a food product at Sunnylands. Thom will share his knowledge from years of experience managing olive groves. He will also lead an olive oil tasting at the end of the session.
This series will be run for the following Thursdays with two walks available from 9-10 am and 10:30-11:30 am:

Fee: $26.99 per participant. All materials required for this class are provided. Available to ages 18 and up, or as young as 16 with an accompanying adult. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.
About the instructor: Thomas L. Curry III is a founder of Temecula Olive Oil Company and a leader in California’s olive oil renaissance. He manages over 300 acres of olive groves in Southern California and was among the first members of the California Olive Oil Council Taste Panel. Thom judges olive oil competitions worldwide, has taught olive oil production and grove management at UC Davis and Fresno State, and consults with growers across Europe, Australia, and North America. With nearly 25 years in olive growing and over 20 years in the wine industry, he also continues to judge wine competitions and works closely with Sunnylands to enhance the health of its historic olive trees and produce world-class olive oil.
Parking is free. Please arrive 30 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where the session will be meeting.
