Join artist Gianne de Genevraye as she teaches a Level 2 pastel class for intermediate to advanced participants. There will be discussion on a broader palette of warm/cool color, contrast color, secondary compliments, composition possibilities, background solutions, and negative space concept. The realization of one or two final drawings that incorporate the above techniques will be commented by Gianne. Participants are expected to be familiar with and have practiced the Level 1 techniques, such as complementary colors, what negative space is, the difference between warm and cool colors, and some simple composition elements.

*It is strongly suggested to take Level 1 Introduction to Still Life in Pastel, or have taken a previous course*

Sunday, January 11, from 9:30 am-12 pm.

Fee: $45.18 per participant. All materials required for this class are provided. Available to adults and guests as young as 12 with an accompanying adult. Workshop fees are nonrefundable within 10 days prior to event.

Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outside. Sun protection, comfortable clothing, and water are recommended.  

About the instructor: Gianne de Genevraye paints public gardens in Europe and the United States. She is a contemporary nature painter with exhibits in France, Italy, Sweden, and the United States that focus on painting in public gardens and on sustainability in public spaces.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time. Stop by the reception desk to be shown where the class will be meeting.
