Bird Nests & Woven Wonders: Intro to Environmental Sculpture

Past Event

Birds are among the most creative architects in nature as displayed by their ability to craft intricately woven nests. In this introductory, open-air workshop, participants will use materials found in the Sunnylands gardens to create beautiful woven art pieces.

Led by artist Judy Sklar, participants will learn woven sculpture design and weaving techniques to combine environmental and self-reflective perspectives. Learn how the idea of “home” depends on ones surroundings, and then materialize that idea by weaving your very own “nest.”

Fee: $39.99 per guest. All supplies and materials are provided. Space is limited. Registration required. No art experience necessary. Ages 14 and above. Unregistered guests are not permitted. To register, please click or tap here or the yellow button. This workshop is SOLD OUT.

This workshop takes place Saturday, March 2, from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Sun protection and a reusable water bottle are recommended. Registration opens January 15 at 9 am Pacific time.

Parking is free. Please arrive 15 minutes before the program start time.
