Quantum Development Group Kick-off Meeting
From July 28–30, Sunnylands partnered with the U.S. State Department and National Security Council to host the Quantum Development Group Kick-off Meeting. We convened senior diplomats and government scientists from Australia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Finland, France, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland, for intensive discussions on coordinating quantum information science policies.
Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell chaired the meeting that resulted in unprecedented coordination among the U.S. and its allies on this new technology that is critical to countries’ security, prosperity, and leadership.
Following the meeting, these expert leaders released a press statement noting the importance of coordinated approaches to quantum policies that promote resilient and reliable supply chains, research and development collaboration, and a quantum future in line with shared interests and values, while enabling each country to maintain a competitive environment for quantum developments.
