In partnership with Right to Start, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding entrepreneurial opportunity in the United States, from January 30 to February 1, Sunnylands convened a diverse group of leaders to collaborate on and endorse a national action plan aimed at making entrepreneurship a central pillar of economic renewal.

The goal: to build a future where more people in more places can start businesses, build wealth, and address societal challenges—fueled by a shared sense of possibility.

Over the course of the two-day convening, participants advanced a detailed roadmap focused on key issues such as increasing access to capital, reducing bureaucratic barriers, integrating entrepreneurial education into schools and workforce programs, and ensuring that entrepreneurial households have access to childcare and healthcare.

Building on the progress made, partners are working to finalize the roadmap for use by government, investors, philanthropists, and others.

Notable attendees included former White House policy advisors from both the Republican and Democratic parties, John Bridgeland and Bruce Reed, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, former U.S. Senator and Governor Dirk Kempthorne of Idaho, Right to Start founder Victor Hwang, and leaders from the Skoll, Kauffman, and Stand Together foundations.

Philanthropist and AOL co-founder and former CEO Steve Case and Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt contributed virtually.
