Stephanie Hochstetter Skinner-Klée

Stephanie Hochstetter Skinner-Klée is director of the UN World Food Programme for the Rome-based Agencies and the Committee on World Food Security since 2017. She is a former diplomat for the Foreign Service of the Republic of Guatemala. Her last position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was that of director general for international multilateral and economic relations. She was ambassador to the Italian Republic and Permanent Representative to the Rome-based Agencies (FAO, IFAD and the World Food Programme), as well as to the Republic of Honduras. She also held diplomatic positions in the Mission of Guatemala to the United Nations and other international organizations with headquarters in Geneva, the Embassy of Guatemala in Paris, and the Permanent Delegation of Guatemala to UNESCO.
She has led a distinguished career, especially in the multilateral sphere, during her work in Italy as the president of the executive board of the World Food Programme, which is the highest governing body of the organization, and also as governor for Guatemala on the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She was also general commissioner for Guatemala for the Universal Exhibition of Milan in 2015.
In recognition of her work, she has been awarded by Italy with the Order of the Star of Italy in the rank of Grand Officer, and by Honduras with the Order Francisco Morazán.
