Raschad Al-Khafaji

Raschad Al-Khafaji is an attaché in the Cabinet of the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. He serves as political advisor to the Director-General on a variety of issues including the Near East and North Africa, Migration, Inter-cultural and Inter-faith Dialogue, as well as Fisheries and Ocean Management.

Before that, he worked at the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the United Nations Office Vienna (UNOV), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

His multi-cultural upbringing and his polyglot education paved the way for a career that is focused on international relations and developmental issues.

He holds a master’s degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, with emphasis on international development studies and is a Ph.D. candidate at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, Maastricht University.
