Peter Cherutich

Peter Cherutich, a senior deputy director of medical services, is the Director of Preventive and Promotive Health, Ministry of Health-Kenya. He is the immediate former head of the division of Monitoring and Evaluation, Health Research and Informatics. During his tenure in health informatics he led the development of the e-health policy and advanced the agenda of digital health. Previously, he was Head of HIV Prevention at NASCOP where he spearheaded many prevention programs. His current role includes providing leadership in policy development and implementation of non-communicable disease control and has been a passionate advocate for inclusion of NCDs in primary health care agenda. He received his PhD in Implementation Science from the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington and his dissertation, published in Lancet HIV, provided the evidence for the adoption of HIV partner notification services by the World Health Organization.
