Protected: Geoff Garin

Geoff Garin is the president of Hart Research Associates, one of the nation’s leading public opinion research firms. He joined the firm’s staff in 1978 and has served as its president since 1984. He previously was the legislative director for U.S. Senator John Heinz.

At Hart Research Associates, Mr. Garin has conducted opinion research on a wide range of topics for many of America’s leading foundations, philanthropies, and institutions of higher education. His recent work for the philanthropic sector includes research on public attitudes about crime and public safety, healthcare access and pricing reforms, teacher recruitment and retention, the role of social and emotional learning in schools, and issues in U.S. foreign policy.

Mr. Garin also conducts research and provides strategic guidance for many of the country’s most prominent non-profit policy and advocacy organizations, including the Alliance for Justice, the Center for American Progress, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Climate Power, the National Immigration Law Center, National Security Action, and Protect Our Care. His clients also include national trade associations and several major national labor unions.

Mr. Garin is active in politics as a pollster for the Democratic Party, Democratic candidates, and a variety of independent organizations that support the election of Democrats. His clients in the United States Senate include Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Majority Whip Dick Durbin, Intelligence Committee Chair Mark Warner, and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Ben Cardin.

Mr. Garin is a graduate of Harvard College. He is married to Debbie Berkowitz, a recognized expert on occupational safety and health issues for workers in the food and service industries.
