Zack Cooper is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he studies U.S. allies and strategy in Asia. Dr. Cooper also teaches at Princeton University, is a partner with Armitage International, chairs the board of the Open Technology Fund, and co-hosts the Net Assessment podcast for War on the Rocks. He previously served on staff at the Pentagon and White House. He has also worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Dr. Cooper is currently writing a book that explains how militaries change during power shifts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and an Master of Public Administration and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
