Dr. Jamie Morrison

Director and Strategic Programme Leader, Food Systems Programme at the Food and Agriculture Organization

Dr. Jamie Morrison is director and strategic programme leader, Food Systems Programme at the Food and Agriculture Organization. He has more than 25 years of experience in the provision of research, capacity development, and technical assistance in relation to the impact of trade and economic policy reform on food security during processes of structural transformation.

He has been actively engaged in debates related to trade negotiations and is the editor of several books, including WTO Rules for Agriculture Compatible with Development, Articulating and Mainstreaming Agricultural Trade Policy and Support Measures, The Evolving Structure of Global Agricultural Trade and Food Security in Africa: Market and Trade Policy for Staples Foods in Eastern and Southern Africa.

Dr. Morrison has a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of London, a Master of Science in agricultural economics from Wye College, University of London and a Bachelor of Science in agricultural science from Massey University, New Zealand. Prior to joining FAO in 2004, he was senior lecturer in agricultural economics at Imperial College London.
