Aspen meeting complements several Sunnylands initiatives

The Aspen Institute Task Force on Learning and the Internet holds its final meeting at The Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands in November. More than two dozen task force members have been meeting since June 2013 to discuss issues surrounding safety, learning, innovation, and the Internet. They have been analyzing extensive research, reviewing public input, and are developing recommendations that “will advance healthy online experiences so young people can easily make smart and responsible choices on the Internet.”

The Task Force is expected to release a report with its findings in 2014. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and award-winning actor and activist Rosario Dawson serve as honorary co-chairs of the task force, which also includes innovative leaders in technology, public policy, education, business, and online safety.

This meeting complements Sunnylands initiatives on technology and education, including the recent Math Strategy Group Design meetings and the Washington, D.C. gathering, Connected Learning in the Digital Age, featuring top policymakers and industry leaders, including acting FCC chair Mignon Clyburn, White House adviser Gene Sperling, and AOL founder Steve Case, among others.
