December 30, 2016–Today the White House announced that President Obama will be returning to Sunnylands in February for a summit meeting with leaders from ASEAN nations. Below is a statement from Geoffrey Cowan, president of The Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands (2010-2016).

“We are profoundly honored that President Obama has invited ASEAN leaders to Sunnylands for a summit meetng in 2016. Walter and Leonore Annenberg were remarkable philanthropists and diplomats who hoped that their estate would become the ‘Camp David of the West’ where the President could bring together world leaders to promote global peace and facilitate international agreements. This important gathering helps to fulfill that mission, which is carried on by their children and grandchildren who serve as our trustees.”
